Residents and non-residents from all over the country and even the globe are welcome to enjoy the privileges of Club membership. The Club features premier amenities, special events, recreational & social programs, and year-round activities.
Governors Club is ranked in the top 5% of distinguished clubs in the world, and has been recognized as a Platinum Club of America – a distinction only awarded to the top 150 country clubs in the U.S.
Members can access other fine clubs who have achieved this status through reciprocal club network programs.

The Clubhouse
At the heart of the community is the breathtaking Clubhouse overlooking the Jack Nicklaus Signature Golf Course. Here, members can enjoy casual, formal, indoor and outdoor dining options crafted by our award-winning Executive Chef and culinary team – featuring seasonal menus and the latest in cuisine, from farm-to-table to sushi and wine events.

Twelve Lighted Courts
Tennis & Pickleball
With 12 courts and over 100 active tennis players at Governors Club, it is easy to find games and groups for tennis enthusiasts of any skill level. Those looking to test their merit can join one of our USTA league or interclub teams, or sign up for our annual club championships for men’s and women’s singles, doubles and mixed doubles.
Our tennis facilities include six impeccably maintained Har-Tru clay surface HydroCourts and two MondoTen hard surface courts.
Our Tennis Professional Staff are USPTA Tennis Professionals including the North Carolina USPTA Pro of the Year and former ACC Player of the Week. Instruction opportunities include adult and junior clinics, private instruction, summer camps, Women’s Tennis Association, Interclub play and Men’s Tennis Nights.
The fun doesn’t stop at the end of the game. Our Tennis socials provide an exciting way to meet people and stay active all year round. All courts are lighted for evening play and feature covered cool cabana benches for summer play.
Governors Club also offers Pickleball courts with certified instructors and year-round clinics, programming and events.

Wellness Center
The Wellness Center is open daily from 4:30 am to 10:00 pm, so you can stop waiting in lines at small gyms and start meeting your wellness and fitness goals on your schedule. Use one of our 59 state-of-the-art cardio and resistance machines or participate in one of the 100 monthly group fitness classes, ranging from yoga to indoor cycling, and everything in between.
The large outdoor pool features an expansive pool deck and summer pool grill great for hosting birthday pool parties. The Wellness Center also has an outdoor splash pool for kids and year-round indoor pool.

Activities and Amenities
That bring families together
Our Youth Activities Director creates events for families to experience the Club together, and for your children and grandchildren to enjoy themselves and make new friends through a variety of activities. Members can enjoy a family meal every Wednesday with “Kids Eat Free,” then kids connect with complimentary KidCare.
Each month, the Club hosts a “Date Night” for parents to enjoy a relaxing dinner while kids enjoy a uniquely-themed event, and tweens and teens have their own events like laser tag and exclusive pool nights.
Events designed for families to share a Club experience, including Kids Eat Free Wednesdays and monthly Date Nights with childcare, Family Nights, Year-round holiday celebrations, Junior golf play days and parent-child golf and tennis tournaments.
The Club also offers events just for kids like indoor & outdoor movie nights, birthday parties, tween and teen events, junior golf and tennis clinics throughout the year, swimming lessons and a year-round Junior Golf Academy for members 3 to 18 years old.
Throughout the summer, your children and grandchildren can participate in a variety of camps, with new themes each week, along with golf and tennis camps with our talented professionals.

Our premier amenities and wide range of events create a club environment that encourages lifelong friendships. Specialized Clubs within the Club, lifelong learning opportunities, speakers series and more provide expanded programming for more than 400 club events offered each year. Plus, our Club event planners assist members with complimentary room rental and flawless execution for your personal celebrations.
Clubs within the Club
Our extensive social and cultural calendar reflects our members’ varied interests. Specialized Clubs within the Club include: Arts Society, Wine Society, La Coterie (music and dancing), Bridge Club and Great Decisions Club (discussion group), representing more than 600 members.
Wine
The Governors Club wine program is ranked in the Top 14 in the U.S. earning the CMAA Wine Award of Distinction. Wine dinners, tastings and trips to wine producing regions around the world are offered regularly.
Arts
Our very own Arts Society arranges special programs to bring the Arts right to Governors Club, and offers special members-only previews and preferred seating for area Arts events.
